Hi all.
I was wondering which software is better for drawing images. Photoshop Illustrator or Flash? I have Photoshop but the images I try to draw are too rough. I need a vector program but which one is better? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Flash IMHO is vector based but you can easily import other file formats including .psd files. So you can draw using Illustrator and then import to Flash. So my vote is for Flash.  Any supporters?

Illustrator all the way for clean lines.  Photoshop for photo styles, for cleaner photos just make sure that the picture your using is hi resolution.

My question was Illustrator vs. Flash.
Do you know of any good Flash tutorials?

Thanks

While Flash is vector based, its drawing tools are nowhere near as flexible as Illustrator.

The only reason to draw in Flash is if Flash is the final destination.

Even then, I would still recommend using Illustrator. You’ll save yourself much frustration.

Thanks. I think I will follow your advice. 2 people already think that Illustrator is the better choice so I’ll go with it.
The thing is I know some Flash and Photoshop and I’ve never used Illustrator before. Is the interface much different from Photoshop?

The interface is very similar to Photoshop, although there are differences. You should be able to get going fairly quickly.

If you’re used to the pen tool in Photoshop, though, it works differently in Illustrator.

The Adobe Classroom-in-a-Book is really good, if you need extra help.

I’m used to Photoshop interface and working with it. I’ll definitely have to read some tutorials first. Thanks for the suggestion.

I’m a Search Engine Guy so I tend to stay away from Flash.  For drawing clean shapes I use Illustrator, unless its something I can easily do by creating a custom Photoshop Path.  Cheers.

Based on my experiences it’s better using Illustrator than Flash because its more clean, user friendly and most compatible with Photoshop (they are published on the same company)

I think illustrator has a high learning curve, when drawing in flash will give you faster results.

I’d definitely look into Illustrator its a lot more powerful.  In fact some people use it to design some of there Flash interface.  http://www.lynda.com has some great training videos if your interested in either.  Cheers.
