My page Penny Lane was designed between 2 mac computers. It looks beautiful on our computers.

But once I get on boot camp to do some gaming, I view the forum and forum category text links (ex: Member Introductions, general Discussion, etc), and even threads in the forums are not BOLD like they are in mac. I’ve tried safari for windows as well and same thing, so it seems to be an OS issue.

any help??

Different web browsers and operating systems handle fonts and page layouts differently than eachother. You would expect this from a Mac, so I don’t think it should be a issue to worry about. If they don’t know its supposed to be bolded, then it won’t matter.

If I support billys it was in Mac so it is looking so nice coming to the other but once you started gaming in your system the system appearance settings will be changed.

Billy’s right.. different web browser and OS handle fonts differently. Basically, for each design we use, we must instantly check the way it looks on different OS and browsers once we installed the template. There are paid services for that but I know one good and free service: http://browsershots.org

There has been much disappointment with Mac OSX font rendering capabilities. Our solution has been to use techniques like Cufon and siFR if we need to ensure that fonts are exactly as they were in the design - here’s an example page: car accessories

Its possible to use a CSS Hack to get the text normal as opposed to bold specific to the browser thats giving you problems.  This should help Browser specific CSS Hack

We had the same Mac problem but I think we’ve got round it now…many thanks!

It took a lot of head scratching before we read the hacks above…

I’ve used them in a new web design that I’m working on for a model enthusiast site.  If I support billys it was in Mac so it is looking so nice coming to the other but once you started gaming in your system the system appearance settings will be changed.

You might see what happens if you launch Apple’s Font Book app & run both the Resolve Duplicates as well as the Validate Fonts routines.

If you have documents that use PostScript versions of a font with the same name,
